Yes, it took forever! It was a big-budget project and required thousands of hours of research and handwork.
In 2004 I got the original 2.3 OHC 4-cylinder engine from a Maverick GT 1976, only 80.000km used. This Ford engine was common to both cars, the difference was the double-carburetor that gives few more HP.
Engine in the Maverick yet.

And two weekends later...
Only one year later I found the chassis.
In 2006 the engine met the chassis.
In 2009 I got the fiber glass body.
Than I got the frames of the rare original seats and renovated them.
In primer epoxy coat.
Started the first electric installation in 2010 based on original schemes.
New shoes in 2010.
Many new/modern features had to be installed to make the original military jeep safer and more comfortable. Disc brakes with vacuum booster, hydraulically assisted steering, roll cage, 3 point retractable seat belts and suspension up-grade.
After all modifications and modernizations, a new electrical system project had to be done. Also to protect the fuse box and ignition module.
